EMD Electronics Deploys NetworkSound Digital Snake Solution
San Jose, CA – August 5, 2006: NetworkSound, a leading provider of multi-channel audio and video over
CAT-5/6, is pleased to announce that EMD Electronics has selected NetworkSound's MediaNet enabled
Digital Snake system for powering live concerts and installations at large venues, including places of worship
and auditoriums. EMD Electronics is a well known dealer and installer of pro audio solutions led by Edgar
David based in Philippines. EMD Electronics selected NetworkSound’s Digital Snake system for upcoming
concerts and to showcase the new technology to end users. “NetworkSound Digital Snakes are plug and
play and offer flexible configurations, negligible delay and high quality audio at the lowest cost” said Edgar
David. "Our requirements were to take 32 channels of audio from the stage and split them to FoH and Mix,
while having 16 returns from each location for a total of 32 returns to the stage. The NetworkSound Digital
Snake system was simple to assemble and install. I just had to pick them up from the box, power them up
and connect a CAT-5", he continued. The system configuration includes three 2U rack mount units with 32
IN X 32 OUT at the stage, 16 X 32 at the FoH and 16 X 32 at the Mix.
NetworkSound plug and play Digital Snakes can support many different audio formats, including balanced,
mic-pre, AES/EBU, SPDIF and unbalanced over a single CAT-5/6 cable. NetworkSound’s MediaNet
technology enables synchronous transport of 512 X 512 channels of audio at 48 kHz over a single CAT-5/6
up to 100 meters/300 feet, or up to 2 km in fiber mode, with latency less than 200 micro seconds. For
