| NetworkSound releases 8 Zone 12 source Distributed Digital Home Audio System with ClassD ZoneAmp for OEM evaluation San Jose, CA June 22, 2005: NetworkSound, Inc, a leading provider of multi-channel audio and video solutions over CAT-5, announced that the NetworkSound new Home audio system is available for evaluation to OEM partners. Key features include, an 8 zone 4 sources zone server, single gang wall jack with line level and class D amp output and source input, and key pad for source selection, IR control, and volume control. The zone server provides Power over Ethernet (PoE) support to zones that require only line level outputs. The NetworkSound home audio system uses a single home run CAT-5 from the zone server to each zone. Bi-directional audio up to 16 sources from and to each zone, control such as IR and PoE (IEEE802.3af compliant) are supported using the single CAT-5 cable. Furthermore, NetworkSound system distributes audio over the CAT-5 in digital format (48 kHz at 24 bits) thus providing professional quality to home users. The zone server has 4 source inputs and each zone can also inject a source thus providing a total of 12 sources accessible by all zones. The wall jack unit comes in 2 variations. The ClassD amp unit has 2 channel classD amplifier with 30W per channel. The PoE unit provides 2 channel line level output and 1 source input. The keypad unit is single gang unit with 4 character LED that display active source , volume level, mute, party mode, etc. The same functions can be controlled by an universal learning remote at each zone. The NetworkSound system supports both local IR control at each zone and pass through IR to any source connected to the zone server or at a zone. The home audio system incorporates Networksound unique “zonesync” technique thus all zones are synchronized to each other. For example, same audio played in adjacent zones are synchronized to micro seconds thus eliminating any audio lag as customer walks between multiple zones.
